This is a lovely vintage German porcelain console bowl designed by the Swiss designer Hans-Theo Baumann for Rosenthal in the late 1960s or early 1970s.
It is a rarer black and gold colour - with a white porcelain exterior and matt black interior - and then decorated with a gold abstract pattern.
It is one of the larger sizes of Baumann console bowls - and is about 10 inches in diameter and nearly 2 inches in height (25.5 cm; 4.5 cm)
Lovely piece of mid-century Continental porcelain - of course, looks just stunning on a fine piece of 1950s Scandinavian furniture.
