This is a most unusual and large mid century Scottish stoneware jug.
It was made by Buchan Pottery, Portobello (just outside of Edinburgh), and dates to the 1950s.
It is a much more unusual design covered all over the roughly painted heart patterns.
It is a harder to find larger size measuring about 7 inches in height, and its widest point has a diameter of 6 3/4 inches.
It is, of course, has no chips or cracks - and in lovely vintage condition.
I haven't seen this particular pattern before from Buchan - so a much harder to find design.
It is quite a heavy piece weighing in at 1.1 kg - probably a piece for UK addresses only.
Fair asking price for this unusual example with interest in rarer Buchanware on the rise in Scotland.
