This is a sweet little vintage / antique snuff box or little trinket box.
It is oval in shape with a nice hinged lid.
It measures: 4.7 x 3.6 x 2 cm.
A very pretty little Dutch silver box for your silver collection - no sure of the date, but generally to the end of the 19th century or early 20th century. The silver is 830 grade - which is more common on the Continent.
The design on the top is style nice and crisp and shows three gentlemen drinking in a Dutch tavern - the design was probably inspired by the paintings of the Dutch artist, Adriaen van Ostade. They sit on old barrels - and there is a wee drinking cup or luggie on the table.
There are no dents or staining - and no prominent inscriptions. There is a very lightly engraved AE in the cartouche to the front on the side, which you can see in my photographs.
The sides are very decorative - with fancy scrolling patterns all around, as photographed.
The base of the box is smooth and shiny.
