This is another rare vintage compact. It is in amazing condition given that it is now about 80 - 90 years old.
It has no maker's mark but based on stylistic evidence it dates to the 1930s or 1940s.
The compact is made of metal with the exterior coated in a pink plastic / celluloid material which is decorated with a pretty image of a crinoline lady in a garden. She appears to be feeding the birds and a little birdhouse is seen to the right.
The celluloid is a sugar pink colour and in excellent condition.
The interior is in good clean condition - there are a couple of little marks to the edges - as photographed. But generally, nice and clean.
The original shifter is still inside. The base where the powder sits has an almost holographic pattern on it.
The hinge is nice and secure and the compact opens and closes readily.
It would take a little amount of loose powder - and was not designed to take more modern pressed cakes.
Dimensions: the diameter is 3 1/4 inches (8.5 cm).
This is a nice item for the more specialist compact collector.
Postage to the UK would be £4.95 for Royal Mail Recorded small parcel - and this would be applied at checkout.
