This is a decorator's item - a vintage Staffordshire-style pair of chimney-piece dogs.
PLEASE NOTE: They are not an old antique pair - but are of vintage creation, possibly mid-20th century. So - they would be better described as a vintage pair - as I have owned them (from pre-loved) for well over 20 years now.
These dogs are as rare as genuine antique ones. A pair of similar 19th-century ones would retail for around the £800 mark! yikes! Even as a fine vintage pair - these white and gold recumbent spaniels remain very hard items to source.
They look just lovely and when look so pretty on the mantlepiece in a modern home - especially if you are the owner. They are beautifully made with a lot of detail - they have shiny gold padlocks - and little gold flecks in their fur, here and there (as created). I love their cute little expressions.
I have taken several photographs of them. You can see from those - just how lovely and cute the wee doggies are - and the marvelous condition of them. I am listing them at £80 for the pair! which is certainly a bargain price, and you won't be disappointed with them. Please remember that these are decorative items and not being sold as antique ones.
Dimensions: each dog is a nice large size - 8 inches in length and 5 1/2 inches high. The depth of each dog is 4 1/4 inches.
Each weighs 1.2 kg (so there is a good bit of weight to them). I would have to send them to you with Parcelforce in the UK - this would cost about £10. They would be very carefully packed.
