These are a lovely large matched pair of antique late Qing period Chinese Cloisonne Dragon vases,
They date to the late 19th century or early 20th century and are lovely examples. They have fine wire cloisonne enamels on a copper or bronze base metal.
Both my vases are in excellent condition with no losses to the enamel or dents. They look fabulous as a pair - so I am not planning on splitting them up.
I am pricing them at £135 for each vase - so the grand total for the pair is £270. This is a fair price for five-toed dragon vases - in such good condition and of a large size.
CLOISONNE: Enamelled metal on which the design colours are separated by undulating wires or thin metal strings soldered to the metal object. The cells are filled with powdered enamel after which the vase or dish is heated until the enamels melt and run into the cells. The whole piece is then lightly sanded and polished to an even surface after which the cloison wires are frequently gilded.
