This is a rarer item in the Portmeirion Phoenix range made in the 1960s.
This is a side plate or cake plate - which would go with the fabulous coffee set.
The plate is in excellent condition with no damages.
It has a black eggshell finish with the famous gold phoenix design printed in the centre.
Interestingly, it also has wee stilt marks on the back - where the plate set on stilts when being fired in the kiln, as photographed.
The plate is 8 1/2 inches in diameter.
The relative rarity of this plate is reflected in my asking price.
