This is a lovely antique belt buckle - it is a lovely large size measuring 3 5/8 inches in height and with a width of two inches.
It is hallmarked on the reverse for Birmingham 1887, as photographed.
It has the maker's mark for HM - for Henry Matthews based at Vittoria Street in Birmingham. The company was known for making a variety of vanity items - including buttons, buckles, scent bottles, vestas, menu holders, dressing sets etc.
This is a beautiful buckle - and would certainly make a feature on a wider belt.
It is in very good antique condition with no issues - all functioning parts of the belt mechanism are present.
The buckle is sold nice and clean - and recently polished. A fine piece of Victorian silver. The buckle has a good weight to it - 34 grams in total.
It will be sent to you with Royal Mail Tracked (Larger Letter). This will be applied to your order at the checkout.
