This is a large piece of genuine Monart Glass dating to the 1930s.
It takes the form of a thistle. The base is a rich powder blue colour - and this gets darker toward the rim - with darker blue and black flecks. Around the neck and rim there are lots of lilac swirls and lots of added gold aventurine twinkles.
The pontil is a flat polished one that you find on lots of smaller Monart vases and bowls.
It is certainly a beautiful example of traditional Scottish glass. I adore the colours.
Excellent condition with no chips or cracks. My vase measures measures 4 3/4 inches in height. The diameter of the rim is 4 inches.
