This is a fine decorator's piece - it takes the form of a large Staffordshire Pottery Lion.
He is recumbent - and is shown lying down with all his paws tucked under his body. He is rather primitive in form and making - but this is all part of his charm.
He dates to the late 19th century, probably about the 1900s - and still has his original glass eyes.
He is a genuine antique figurine - and definitely NOT a reproduction piece. Mr Lion is in very good antique condition - with no chips or cracks. He is a great model and looks fabulous in any interior - modern or classic
Width at widest point is 11 inches. Height 9 inches.
