This is a very unusual little mid-century dish; and certainly a very good quality item.

It is made for Foley Bone China and designed by Maureen Tanner.

The rare design is called Piscatori - and features a design with a fishing net and lots of tiny stylized fishes swimming about.

It is a most unusual item - in that it takes the form of a candle holder - with sconce sections to hold three candles and built into a bowl shape.

The exterior has a matte white glaze and the interior is a dark glossy red colour. It is just a fabulous piece of mid-20th Century British ceramics.

These larger pieces by Margaret Tanner are now so much harder to find, especially in such fine, damage-free condition.

My lovely bowl is probably one for the more specialist collector of 50s or mid-century British ceramics.

It is about 9 1/2 inches long - with a depth of 4 1/4 inches - and a height of about 3 inches.

Fine pieces in this pattern are always quickly snapped up - and my price is a fair one for this iconic design.

Postage will be with Royal Mail Tracked (Small Parcel) Delivery. This will be applied to your order at the checkout.
