This is such a charming porcelain plate from Peynet's "The Lovers" series - this shows two sweethearts in a rowing boat and looking at a reflection in the water.
This is a little larger than my other two in my Iconic Edinburgh online shop - and has a diameter of 7 ¾ inches.
My lovely decorative plate was made in Germany in the 1950s.
Two sweethearts are in a park. They have been rowing a boat in the pond. They snuggle up in the boat and look down at the water. To their surprise, they see the reflection upside down in the water of a kissing couple. A very pretty little image - love all the wee birdies flying around the heads of the couple.
A great plate - in good vintage condition with no damages.
