This is a sweet etching showing a young girl in her bedroom. She is sitting on her bed - and is waiting for her parents to come and close the curtains and say goodnight to her. It is a cosy scene - and the little girl is snuggled under her pretty patchwork quilt and beside her, waiting to be tucked up with her - a little teddy bear. The girl's day clothes are all neatly folded on a chair beside the wee bed.
This etching is by Eileen Soper, who was famed for her delicate etchings showing charming scenes from childhood.
Soper was an etcher and illustrator of children's and wildlife books. She produced a series of charming etchings mainly of children playing and illustrated books for other writers, most notably for Enid Blyton on the Famous Five Books.
Some of her illustrations of children and animals were used in a china series for children by Paragon China in the 1930s.

This fine print by Eileen Soper is a lovely proof impression from the only edition which was published in 1922. It was issued by HC Dickins and stamped with their blind stamp.
The image measures 10 x 15 cm. The frame is 30 x 35 cm
The print is in excellent condition and has been re-framed for sale. It has a new window mount and a simple black frame. It is ready for you to hang straight on your wall. Generally in good condition - perhaps a little tiny bit of time tone of the edge of the original Dickins mount - but I would say just fine as is to hang straight onto your wall.
