This is a very attractive and original vintage colour lithograph by Andre Plisson (1929 - 2016) which is pencil signed and dated 1963, lower right.
Plisson was a French artist and winner of many international art prizes including the Prix de Rome, Prix de la Casa de Velasquez, and Prix Eugene Carriere. He has exhibited in many US and European cities and his art is in many private collection in France and the United States.
In the 1940s he attended the School of Fine Arts in Tours - where he was a student of Mathurin Meheut. He left the School in 1949 - and then went for a year to the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. His tutors included Jean Dupas, Edmond Heuze, and Raymond Leguelt.
This is a harder to find original print by him: they don't come up for sale very often in the UK. It comes from a very small limited edition of only 45 works: this is number 29.
It has 5 different colours - all in subtle shades of grey, mustard, dark browns and dark petrol blue - all very much in vogue at the moment.
It would certainly look fabulous in a mid-century New York loft interior - with cool Scandi-modern furniture and an on-trend Nordic neutral colour scheme.
The image is certainly an attractive one - showing a young lady standing near a window (with ochre-coloured trees in the background). There is a blue curtain - which suggests some depth. I love all the strange "flesh" tones.
My print is in excellent vintage condition with no problems of any kind. It has never been on display and has been stored away from light in a portfolio since the early 1960s.
I have had it professionally (and indeed beautifully framed) for sale - the grey mount and complimentary darker grey frame - really highlight all the pale neutral and pastel shades in the print.
It is all ready for you to just hang on your wall.
Frame size: 61 x 38.5 cm. Image size: 38 x 18 .5 cm. So a nice more compact size for a modern interior.
It is offered at a fair price - as it is such an attractive image, by an internationally recognised artist, and from a small edition. It is in pristine condition - and has never been on display (was always kept in a portfolio). It is beautifully presented with a new good-quality grey wood frame and a new window mount.
