This is a good copy of Irving Washington's THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW; It has fine illustrations by Arthur Rackham.
This volume is an early edition and was published in 1928 by George Harrap, London and printed by Pillans & Wilson in Edinburgh.
All of Rackham's eight colour raised plates including frontispiece are present, and all as photographed.
The original illustrated endpapers are by Rackham. There are also lots of vignettes black and white illustrations in the text.

This edition was published in 1928. It is printed on a nice laid paper. It has a coloured frontispiece. The decorative titlepage is printed in green and black inks. The volume has a total of 7 coloured plates with 30 printed monochrome illustrations within the text. Beautiful end papers showing the characters in the story - I have photographed before front and back ones. There is a little pen inscription on the flyleaf at the front, again as photographed.
The book is hardback and bound in green cloth, it is lettered in gilt. It has a gilt wash along the top edge - and the pages are uncut and can be seen along the other margins.
No bumping to the corners, no damage or fading to spine.
Generally, it is in very good condition with lovely clean binding. There is no dust jacket with this edition
This fine volume is probably for the more specialist collector, it is a lovely book. I have taken lots of images for your inspection so that you can assess the condition of the volume.
