These are three very rare 1950s publications for the British Industries Fair held at Olympia between 2 May and 13 May 1955.
There is a slim publication showing three plans or maps of the layout of the fair. These show all the stalls and exhibitors on three floors at Olympia. It also has a couple of period adverts printed on the covers. It is in excellent condition and these are rare survivors as probably the map was disposed of when the Fair was over. The cover is certainly a fabulous one - showing red, white and white celebratory bunting and two yellow cog wheels in the background. It is very 50s in style.
The same decoration appears on the cover of the catalogue - it says that this is a separate catalogue for the Birmingham Section and it is the London Edition. The catalogue is about the same size as a Penguin paperback book. It has a soft paper cover which is in good condition - no tears or rips and the spine is still intact.
There is a lot of text inside listing all the exhibitors and a good random selection of period adverts.
There is also a separate little pamphlet insert to the catalogue which is a supplement giving details of new entrants, withdrawals etc. There are a few adverts inside as well.
These are interesting publications for probably a more specialist audience interested in Industrial Exhibitions in the 1950s and with special emphasis on Birmingham exhibitors.
I am listed all three at £60 with free UK postage.
I have taken lots of images of the contents. It is a fabulous group of publications relating to this event - I certainly cant find any other ones.
