This is an exceptionally fine piece of Poole Pottery.
It is a unique hand-painted piece from the Studio Pottery range - and these pieces were often one-off productions.
This lovely fine plate was designed to be hung on the wall.
It is 8 inches in diameter.
It is marked to the back with the Studio Mark - there is an unidentified maker's or decorator's mark on the back.
The back stamp on the back dates the plate to the early 1960s.
The front is a beautiful hand-painted and unique design with no condition issues. The pattern is textured and is just lovely, and to me, it looks very space-age and a cosmically inspired abstraction. I have taken lots of images for your inspection.
It is certainly a very painterly example, as you can see in my photographs.
