This is a handy little group of 1950s Poole Twintones tea related itemes.
On offer are a selection of cups, saucers, side plates & milk and sugar jugs in the harder to find colourway - Lime Green and Seagull.
Poole Twintone designs are timeless classics - and are fine mid-century minimalistic or steamline styles and would have been lovely in a 1950s chic interior.
They came in a combination of pastel colours. This Lime Green and Seagull combination was introduced in the 50s and it is a harder to source one.
HISTORY: poole Pottery (Carter, Stabler and Adams) produced two-coloured tableware from the 1930s, but had to stop production during World War Two. When they re-launched the range in the late 1940s, they named it Twintone. Twintone was used on three shapes of tableware, many table accessories and a whole host of decorative ware right up to 1981. Not all Poole tableware of the mid-20th century is Twintone, even if it appears to come in two colours. Twintone glazes are described as ‘semi-matt’ or ‘vellum’ because of their smooth feel and soft sheen, and they always come in two distinctive colours.
On offer here are 4 trios: The cups are 2 1/4 inches in height and with a diameter of 3 1/2 inches. The saucer is 6 inches in diameter. The side plates are 7 inches diameter Listed for £10 each trio (total £40)
The large single cake plate is 10 inches in diameter (harder to find so £10)
The milk jug is 4 1/4 inches in height. From handle to spout it is 5 1/2 inches. The sugar bowl is 2 1/2 inches in height and with a diameter to 2 3/4 inches (£10 the pair).
These are all in excellent vintage condition - and great as a wee starter set - all you need is to get a wee teapot - and you have a good 1950s set in this attractive and fresh yellow lime and speckled seagull grey shades.
I have taken a lot of image for all my items listed. They are listed as the set depicted.
These will be sent to you as a medium size parcel - and postage will be applied at the checkout.
