This is a very attractive set of six matching Art Deco lidded side plates. They are all in perfect condition with no damage.
The set dates to the 1930s and was made by Burleigh Ware. The pattern is called Dawn and it is hand-painted onto the Zenith Shape.
It has a nice creamy honey-coloured glaze. The Dawn pattern is very much sought after and now harder-to-find. The design features a big yellow rising sun (that you might see at Dawn, hence the name). The sun is shown behind silhouetted black tree branches and belong the grey-coloured tree canopy. It is very stylish.
All the decoration on this is hand-painted so it would either be a piece for display or occasional use and hand-washed afterwards (no dishwashers!).
Listed at just under £10 each plate. This reflects the condition and desirability of this pattern.
