This is a lovely addition to your collection of 1970s Poole Delphis Pottery.
The flat vase or squat bowl has been nicknamed an "onion vase". This is Shape Nol 32 in the Poole Delphis range.
This one has a scarlet red ground with abstract shapes (some resembling tulips heads) around the rim section. There are very painterly and have lovely yellow and orange colours with some olive green highlights here and there.
Delphis was introduced in 1963, allowing the decorators to produce designs of their own, each piece being unique. This piece is signed on the base with the monogram used by Cynthia Bennett who was at Poole between 1971 and 1977.
It is in good vintage condition with no damages. Any white flashes on the photos and not on the pot itself but are just reflections - the glaze is very shiny!
Dimensions: The height is 4 3/4 inches and the diameter is 7 1/2 inches.
