This is a handy little genuine vintage GREEN glass shade. It was taken from an old house in the South Side of Edinburgh.
It is a French-style - flared cone or "coolie hat" shape. This one is a dark emerald green colour on the top (glossy finish, hence the white reflection flashes on the surface in my photos) and the underside is an opaque white colour.
These types of shades with very popular in French cafes in the 1920s and 1930s.
It is made of hand-blown white glass and in good vintage condition with no damage.
Great for a hall - or hung lower in an alcove from a longer ceiling flex. The shade hangs straight onto your bulb holder on a standard UK holder.
Dimensions: the diameter is just under 10 inches (25 cm) and the height is 3 1/2 inches (9 cm).
