This is a very pretty vintage Glasform vase designed by John Ditchfield. It is more of an understated design with the interest in the suble dark rose pink colour and irridescent lustres and feathered lines in the design.
It is fully signed on the base: Glasform / J Ditchfield and was the issue number 5813. It also has its original paper Glasform label as photographed.
As mentioned, the vase has the most beautiful colour with at the body section in a pink or rose blush shade, and on top of this is a layer of speckled, iridescent gold lustre. The sheen on the vase is very attractive. The neck area appears lighter with a more golden tone to it. The glass has a mottled texture here. There are some little indentations to the glass around the rim (done in the making). These are not damages but I am reflecting this in my reducded asking price. It remains a very attractive large piece of studio Ditchfield glass. If perfect I would have had this priced at £220 - so this is a good price at £180. The little indentations are not seen when the vase is on display.
There are dark purple areas of feathered swirls in the glass. The surface of the glass is nice and glistening all over - with no damages.
Dimensions: height 8 1/4 inches - and diameter at the widest is 6 1/4 inches. The diameter at the rim is 3 3/4 inches and the base is 3 1/2 inches. Weight unpacked is 1.4 grams.
