This is a highly collectable piece of Scottish Art Glass.

This is an engraved glass rummer by Colin Terris (1937 - 2007) featuring an image of the Pied Piper playing on his enchanted pipe, and followed by a group of little children. In the background, there is an intricate image of the town of Hamelin, Brunswick running all around the bowl section.

Terris’ composition features the climactic episode from the German legend about a piper who spirited away the town’s children. The story also inspired Robert Browning to write his celebrated poem in 1842.

Colin Terris is acknowledged internationally as the Father of Modern Paperweight Design.

For 33 years he was the lead designer at Caithness Glass and in 1991 he was created a Member of the Order of the British Empire for his contribution to British Glass.

This beautiful goblet is one of a limited edition of only 12 engraved in this pattern by Terris.

It is in excellent condition. My price reflects both the exceptional quality of this piece & its rarity.

This is certainly a museum quality piece of fine Scottish glass.

Please see my other fine Caithness Terris rummer or goblet in my Iconic Edinburgh online store. Both are tour-de-force masterpieces of glass engraving.

Etched signature on the base and date 1970 No 1/12.

Height: 6 inches (15 cm) and with a diameter of 4 inches (10 cm).
