This is a fabulous item for the collector of old Masonic memorabilia.
A good larger example - measuring some 5 1/4 inches in height (13.5 cm). The diameter across the top is just over 2 1/2 inches (6.5 cm).
Weight unpacked is 350 grams.
This is a beautiful example of a masonic firing glass and has a selection of finely engraved symbols all around the main body section.
The glass is faceted all around with a very heavy hexagonal and chunky faceted base - although not dated it is certainly not a modern example - and probably dates to the late 19th century or early 20th century, and is probably German in origin. There is a finely polished pontil to the base.
There is a previous owner's lodge details engraved on the base in a very Germanic Gothic script: S.l BR / W.B
The main body section has lovely engraved masonic symbols - a sun and dividers: a flying arrow and tablets; a hammer and block anvil; a moon, star and hammer; a pentangle and pyramid and cross keys and a book - all as matched pairs on each facet.
In excellent condition with no damages or any kind. More photographs can be supplied on request to interested parties.
