This is a very large piece of genuine Monart Glass dating to the 1930s. It is Shape Classified as B and the size is V ( this one is 10 inches).
It is a lovely bulbous shouldered shape with a tall tubular neck. It is fine aqua colour often favoured used on Monart vases.
The base section is a mottled paler green colour in and at the top this is enlivened by inclusions of black flecks and subtle sprinklings of gold aventurine. It is a great colour and largest size in the shape - and would enhance any Scottish glass colleciotn.
The raised central pontil i(as photographed) s a typical Monart one. Sadly, it has no paper label and this has probably been washed away over time. This often happens on these near antique Monart pieces. . I have taken lots of images for your inspection.
It is in excellent condition with no damages.
Dimensions: Height is just under 10 inches (being hand-blown sizes for catalouging vary slightly). Diameter at its widest point: 7 3/4 inches. The rim is 4 inches diameter. The base is 4 1/4 inches in diameter. Unpacked the vase is nearly 1.5 kg
It is certainly a beautiful example of traditional Scottish glass. I adore the subtle colours of the glass and these would look perfect in modern interiors as well as period ones.
