This is a really lovely original etching and aquatint by the artist John Brunsdon (1933 - 2014).

The print is entitled "Day's End" which is a reference to the big orange sun ball in the top left-hand corner. The sun is setting and the landscape starts to turn to shadow.

The landscape has not been identified - but it looks very much like his typical view of the Yorkshire Dales that he was making at this time. Indeed, Brunsdon's views of the Dales - reminds me of the current work being produced in the same area by David Hockney - both artists have a fascination with the patterns of the fields and trees seen from a distance - although Brunsdon uses a much more subtle palette to depict the landscape.

The print is made using his favourite medium of etching and coloured aquatint tones.

It is signed in pencil, titled and with the edition number in pencil below.

Dimensions: Image size 31 x 29 cm. Frame size is 44 x 44.5.

It is in its original vintage frame - as framed by the Medici Society, Liverpool. The frame is a metal gold tone colour and the mount is a cafe-creme colour.

It is No. 55 from an edition of 100. It is annotated by Brunsdon in pencil with the title.

It is a smaller size and great size for a domestic interior

Printed on a heavy wove paper - it is a nice clean image - with no fading or condition issues.

A very subtle print with lovely fine colouring and abstracted shapes - I hope that my photographs do this lovely work justice. It looks much better in "real life" than in my images.
