This is a lovely piece of mid-century handmade pottery.
It is a lovely piece dating back to 1963.
On stylistic evidence, I am assuming that this might be Scandinavian in origin. The base is a brownish / terracotta colour with little flakes or flecks through the clay, which you often see on Scandinavian pottery.
The middle section - is glazed with a glossy black glaze and signed in blue: HS / 1963. The top of the shallow bowl has a very glossy black or midnight blue glaze - onto this is an abstract pattern of circles with radiating lines in a turquoise blue / purple colour.
The diameter of my lovely bowl or dish is 10 inches.
A lovely piece that would look great on a piece of low Scandinavian furniture perhaps on a teak coffee table as a decorative piece.
In excellent condition with no damages.
Given this is a one-off and unique piece dating to the early 60s - I would think that my asking price is a fair one for this attractive studio pottery piece.
It will be sent to you in the UK with Royal Mail Recorded (Medium Size Parcel). This will be applied at the checkout.
