This is a very large and substantial Ironstone serving dish - which was made by Edge, Malkin and Company (EM & C ribbon mark and impressed mark on the back, photographed).
The pottery was based at the Newport Works, Burslem in Staffordshire.
The plate probably dates to around the 1880s - but certainly no later than 1902 - as this date records the business becoming bankrupt and going into voluntary liquidation.
It is a fabulous large size Victorian serving platter - with a transfer printed Willow Pattern.
It measures 17 inches wide by 13 3/4 inches with a depth of 2 inches.
It is nearly 2.4 kg unpacked.
It can be used for serving food at larger family gatherings - such as Thanksgiving, Easter, and at Christmas - but it equally looks good on a pine dresser in a country kitchen.
It is in good condition for its age and size.
The front of the plate is nice and clean with a shiny glaze and no evident damages.

The back of the plate is generally nice and clean - with some marks to the ceramic ware - commensurate with its age and being used - there is a very fine hairline to one edge - confined mainly to the glazed surface - and not going through to the front etc.
A great big antique display piece - with a good bit of weight to it.
