This is a rare early 1980s mug that features a design from the series produced by Midwinter, "London Scenes". It was produced in 1987.
It is very Carnaby Street / Pop Art in feel. These wee mugs are now hard to source - and this is reflected in my asking price.
The design consists of a repeating band of Beefeater (or Yeomen of the Guard) Guardsmen. They hold their staffs and are lined up outside the Tower of London. The Beefeaters are ceremonial guardians of the Tower - and they are responsible for looking after any prisoners and safeguarding the English Crown Jewels.
My mug is in good vintage condition. The mug is 3 1/4 inches in height.
