This is an unusual and collectable piece vintage German art pottery.
It was made in 1957 and designed by Cilli Worsdorfer for Jasba and the design is called Verona. It is in excellent condition with no damages.
The vase is of a globular shade - and has a thick grey eggshell glaze with incised lines that criss-cross and form geometric patterns. Some of these are infilled with thick gloss glazes in yellow, white and burgundy. The base of the vase is a buttery yellow colour with the pattern number. The inside is also the same yellow colour.
Dimensions: The height is 6 inches. The diameter is 5 1/2 inches at the widest. As such - it would have to be sent to you with Royal Mail Tracked postage as a medium size parcel (I wouldn't want to put it in a tight and risky smaller box). This will be applied to your order at the checkout. If I can post cheaper - I will refund any postage overages.
HISTORY: The Jasba company was founded in 1926 by Jakob Schwaderlapp in Ransbach-Baumbach (who went on to form Ceremano in 1959). The name is derived from his name and the town where it was located. The pottery closed in 1975 and it ceased making its beautiful and much sought after vases.
Cilli Wörsdörfer created ceramics for a few West German companist, - Ruscha, Jasba and Herkenroth. Her designs are known for their bold colors, abstract patterns, and distinctive shapes. Her pieces often feature bold colors, abstract patterns, and unique shapes, such as the "Kairo" design for Ruscha and the "Domino" decor.
