This another really pretty Scottish glass paperweight which I am currently listing. As you can see it is beautifully made and was created by Strathearn Glass in the 1970s.
The paperweight is in excellent condition and comes in its original blue presentation box and has the Strathearn paper label on the base. You do not find these weights still in their original box. The box is in fine condition. The silk lining is in pretty good condition for its age. The outside of the box is also in good condition - but it has a little bit of white spotting on the exterior of the lid. I have photographed this for you. I have taken lots of photographs of both box and the weight for your inspection.
It is a more unusual one with its use of pastel tutti-frutti shades and that dazzling contrasting bright red rosette in the centre.
The ground is a pretty speckled lemon yellow colour with a dimple pontil mark which is clear in the centre and forms a halo effect. The weight has a central rosette. This is made of slightly larger sugar pink millefiori canes which is surrounded by a ring of red and pale blue ones. There are a total of eight full-length white latticino ribbons issuing from the rosette. In between each ribbon is a triangular placement of pastel millefiori canes.
It is in lovely condition - with no damage. Again, it is a most attractive vintage Scottish glass paperweight.
It measures 2 1/4 inches in height with a diameter of 3 inches.
