This is an attractive vintage 1970s paperweight made by Strathearn Glass. It is edition number: PSF82.
The paperweight is in excellent condition and comes in its original blue presentation box and has the Strathearn paper label on the base. You do not find these weights still in their original box. The box is in fine condition - but there is a little area of discolouration from age and the silk resting against the foam lining for the last 50 years. I have taken lots of photographs for your inspection.
My lovely weight has a dusty pink-coloured ground with polished facets for viewing the paperweight interior around the sides. There is a central single yellow coloured cane surrounded by a rosette made up of seven pink millefiori canes. There are spokes made of white latticino twists. There are seven of these in total. There is a 1-2-2 arrangement of canes inside the spokes.
There are a total of five circular polished side facets. There is also a circular flattened polished facet on the top.
The paperweight measures 2 1/4 inches in diameter and 1 1/2 inches in height. In such excellent vintage condition with no damages. It think that it has been stored away in its box since it was first made. This is reflected in my asking price.
