This is a lovely minimalistic paperweight and a more simple design by the glass maestro, Colin Terris. It is called Weather Vane and dates to 1992. I have two of these weights in my online store (as photographed).
The weight is ball-shaped. It has a thin petrol blue ground. The top of this blue ground is sprinkled with cerise-pink grains. From the center rises a small cerise air bubble which flattens out above and turns to a Royal Blue colour. Above the central pillar floats four randomly shaped air bubbles. They are very silvery in tone.
It has a diameter of 3 inches and a height of 2 3/4 inches. It is a heavier weight unpacked it is 650 grams.
It is in good vintage condition with no chips, scratches, or damages. The weight is titled on the base. There is also an edition number. 879 from a limited edition closed at 1617. It was a popular weight issued for members of the Caithness Collectors Club.
As a more simple design but highly collectable Terris weight and it is priced accordingly.
