This is a fine piece of Scottish studio glass.
It was made by the glass artist, Jane Charles. It comes from my personal collection and have owned it for many years. It is an earlier piece by her.
The glass takes the form of a discus-shaped paperweight. The central core is made up of tangled red, black and white swirls and there is a surrounding band of thick clear glass.
It has been hand-blown by Charles and has a rough pontil mark on the base and her etched signature.
The paperweight is 4 inches in diameter and 1 1/2 inches in height.
Unpacked it weighs 700 grams.
It is in good vintage condition with no damages - there is one wee air bubble in the clear rim section (in the making) which you can see in my images.
Jane Charles was born in Edinburgh in 1961. She is now based in Newcastle but originally set up her glass studio in Edinburgh in 1987. This weight dates to her time in Edinburgh. It is in excellent vintage condition with no damages.
Listed at a very fair price for a unique work by this glass artist.
It will be sent to you with Royal Mail Tracked (Small Parcel) post. This will be applied to your order at the checkout.
