This is another lovely Scottish paperweight, designed by the glass maestro, Colin Terris for Caithness Glass.
This one is certainly a bit of a tour-de-force; and probably a weight for the more specialist collector. The paperweight is called Spring Melody - and apart from the fine aesthetics it is also technically accomplished.
The weight is no. 145 from an edition of 150 weights - and it was fully subscribed on issue. On its issue, this lovely weight was priced at £175 - so, of course, my asking price is a very fair one. It is classified as CT-820. It dates to 1991.
The weight is spherical with a smaller faceted viewing window on the top - there are also two rows of oval facets all around - totally 9 facets.
The base colour is rich, dark blue colour and the rest of the weight is a tinted aqua colour. There are little sprinkles of white glass granules on the base (to resemble fine sping snow). From the center issues single crocus flower with three pink-purple leaves, red stamens inside and three forked leaves on the ouside. All the facets produce such a strange optical effect with this weight - almost like "magic mirrors" at a funfair.
It is in excellent condition with no damages. This is reflected in my asking price. I have taken lots of images for your inspection.
It is a nice large one - being 3 1/4 inches in diameter and 2 3/4 inches in height.
Postage will be with Royal Mail Tracked (Small Parcel) service. This will be applied to your order at the checkout. It will be capped at £5.95 - I will take out private insurance on the shipment to insure the weight is not lost or damaged in transit to you.
