I am listing this two 1980s Scottish Caithness paperweights as the designs and colours as so similar and form such a nice pair.
The first one was designed by Innes Burns and it is entitled Cauldron on the base. This weight was made in a selection of different colours - this is the pink or ruby coloured one. It was issued in 1982.
The weight is simple and more abstract design - representing the contents of a cauldron bubbling away. There is a rose pink and white peaked swirl in the center and the crown of the weight has a host of random controlled bubbles floating in the clear glass.
It is a very attractive weight - and is a nice large size. The paperweight is 2 3/4 inches in height and with a diameter of 3 inches.
The other is one entitled Pink Champagne and it was designed by Colin Terris in 1987. The weight looks to fizzy champagne for its inspiration with a large bubble in the center and swirls of pale pink glass and teeny weeny air bubbles all around. Like my other weight - this one has a net of random controlled bubbles all around the crown.
Both are more minimalistic weights - and typical on 1980s Caithness designs. The paperweight is 2 3/4 inches in height and with a diameter of 3 inches. Both these are the same size and in good vintage condition - with no chips or cracks. Some little fine marks on the base where the weights have been picked up and placed down on a hard surface for nearly 40 years. I have taken lots of photographs of both of them.
I have a second Cauldron available on my site (£25). I am listing this pair at £20 for each weight, and it will have one set of postage applied to your order at the checkout. They will be carefully packed and sent with Royal Mail Tracked (Small Parcel) post.
Postage will be with Royal Mail Tracked (Small Parcel) Delivery and applied to your order at the checkout stage.
