This is a lovely extra large wall plate designed by the Danish designer Bjorn Wiinblad (1918 - 2006) for Rosenthal
This plate is in lovely vintage condition with no damages.
It is a very large size for display measuring some 14 inches.
It is 1.3 kg in weight.
The design is for Autumn.
It features the little couple in an orchard. The summer fruit has ripened and they are shown picking the harvest. The trees are laden with juicy apples.
A typically whimsical vintage 1970s Wiinblad design (but re-issued by Rosenthal as a centenary piece in the 1990s). His work has recently been the subject of a major retrospective exhibition at the Arken Museum of Modern Art in Copenhagen.
