These are a fine pair of Mdina glass vases. They are both of a slightly smaller scale - and look very nice on display together - so though that I would offer them up together as a pair.

The first one is a right wee heavy one with a fine flared trumpet-shaped neck. The colours are swirled green, blue and brown patches - and these colours were intended to replicate the sand, rocks and sea off the shore of Malta.

This one is unsigned and probably had a paper label, now lost. It is a lovely piece - love how the blue colours don't carry up onto the surface of the flared neck which remains a creamy grey-green speckled shade.

It measures 4 inches in height and the diameter of the flared rim at the top is 2 3/4 inches. The main body section is 3 inches at the widest point.

The other one I think is a bit of an early one - it has a strange paper label - which I haven't seen used before on other pieces of Mdina glass. This one is more of a dark toffee brown colour with some darker mottling and air bubbles in the glass - it is more like a big bubble. Nice shaped rim. Polished pontil on the base - and that old Glass of Malta sticker. It is a very tactile piece - the interest not so much in the colours but in the stylish form.

It is 4 inches in height - and with a diameter of 3 1/2 inches diameter at its widest point. The trumpet-shaped rim is 2 1/2 inches.

Weight unpacked for the two is 900 grams.

In excellent condition with no chips or damages.
