This is a little job lot of three sweet little vintage Sabino opalescent glass birds.
The artist Marius-Ernest Sabino (1878-1961) was an Italian-born Parisian who attended L’Ecole National des Arts Decoratifs and the Beaux Arts de Paris. He experimented with glass and by 1925 he had created his very own chemical formula for fine opalescent glass. The result is that in low light the glass often appears white or bluish like ice in a glacier.
The three birds on offer here consist of two taken from the same original mould. They are hunched up with lowered heads and are pecking at the ground, and another one with its head raised and outstretched wings.

I am pricing each wee bird at a very fair price of £40 each bird.
They would have originally had a little red label on the base - but this has been lost over the distance of time. All have an impressed SABINO signature on them. I have taken several photographs of them for your inspection.
They are all in good vintage condition with no disfiguring chips or cracks - and they certainly display nicely as a wee group.
Dimensions: The pecking birds are beak to tail 6.2 cm. The wing span at the widest is 4.8 cm. The bird with outstretched wings has a wing span of 7 cm and from beak to tail is 5 cm.
