I have two of these wonderful decorative comports designed by John Walsh Walsh of Birmingham in my collection. It probably dates to around the 1890s.

This piece is a rare survivor (indeed a pair more so!).
The comport or stand is so delicate - that I cannot believe that it has survived in such wonderful condition. The stem of the comport resembles a thorn vase with stylised "tree root" feet - along the upright stem section are little sharp pointed thorns. The stand section is made of uranium glass that glows bright green when subjected to UV light.
The platter section of the dish is very fine and is made to resemble a lily pad. It is also made of uranium glass - but this time with an iridescent sheen. You can see this clearly in my photographs.
These are probably more specialist items for collectors of British Art Glass - arent they so pretty?
Dimensions: The height is 4 3/4 inches. The stand section is roughly 6 inches x 5 3/4 inches. The foot section has a diameter of 3 1/2 inches. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. I have taken lots of images for your inspection.
