This is a very collectable set of Scottish 1970s Caithness Lybster glassware. The range was named after a fishing village in the North of Scotland.
My set on offer here consists of six harder-to-find Lybster Whisky Tumblers and a Lybster design decanter. They were designed by Colin Terris for Caithness Glass.
The six whisky tumblers are a light smoky brown colour with a heavy clear glass foot. They measure as follows: 2 7/8 inches in height and have a diameter at the base of 2 5/8 inches. They are all in perfect condition with no damages. I am listing these at £7.50 for each glass.
They are on offer here with a matching Lybster Decanter - this is 9 3/4 inches in hieght and 5 3/4 inches at the widest point. This was designed by Colin Terris in 1972 and continued in production until the mid-1980s.
Terris often looked to Scandinavian design for inspiration. Obviously, this set will look fabulous on display on a Scandi-modern or mid-century bureau or sideboard.
The decanter stopper has a fine internal hairline - to the internal edge. It is only millimetres long and not inherently obvious. I am taking this into account with my pricing and am listing at £20. The interior of the decanter is nice and clear with no signs of any clouding which you can occasionally find on these pieces.
It is a lovely complete set - as mentioned finding the correct glasses to go with the decanter is rather difficult. The decanter is more often with Canisbay ones.
Due to the weight - they will have to be posted Parcelforce24. This will cost just over £10 - but will allow these to be packed up carefully in a larger and more sturdy box to post to you.
