This are very stylish and rather rare vintage Danish glass decanter.
It was hand-blown and made by the Danish Glass Company, Holmegaard and originally designed by Bent O. Severin in the 1950s.
It matches the little Schnapps Princess Glasses also listed on my site. However, I decided not to sell these together - as the glass on the decanter has a natural slight yellow tinge to the glass - and the glasses when seen in bright light seem to be more clear.
The decanter is conical in shape and has a polished pontil mark on the base. It is unsigned - which is not unusual, as at this date many of these pieces would have had an applied paper label rather than an etched signature. The decanter has no damage.
I love the delicate little lip at the top of the decanter - which helps you to fill your glasses from the bottle without spillage. I also love the stopper - which (like the glasses) contains a single controlled air bubble.
The decanter measures: overall height with the stopper is 14 1/2 inches. Without the stopper it is 12 inches. The diameter of the base is just over 4 1/4 inches. The height of the stopper is 3 3/4 inches.
These mid-century Princess hand-blown glass items from Holmegaard are now hard to find and my price for it is a fair one.
I would have to send to UK addresses only. The decanter will have to be sent with Royal Mail Medium Size Parcel (Tracked). This will be applied to your order at the checkout.
