This is a lovely vintage piece of Isle of Wight Glass. These flattened pieces are generally called "Lollipop Vases".
It is made of thick, flattened clear glass with subtle pastel coloured swirls and fine ribbon trails inside. The colours are mainly pink and dark olive green (that you might find in seaweed) inside - this casts colours onto the main clear section making up the vase.
My Lollipop vases dates to the 1970s as it has an old flame pontil mark on the base. This mark was used from the early 1970s until around 1978 when Michael Harris was working there.
The glassworks was founded in 1973 at St. Lawrence, Isle of Wight, England by Michael Harris and his wife Elizabeth. He had previously co-founded Mdina Glass in Malta - but Isle of Wight Studio Glass was a separate venture established after his return to the UK. Some pieces produced at Isle of Wight Studio Glass in the 1970s did share designs and colorways with earlier works created at Mdina Glass.
My vase is nearly 7 inches in height - and has a width at the widest point of 5 1/4 inches. The depth is approximately at the widest point 2 inches. It has a good bit of weight to it - coming in at 1.1 kg unpacked.
It is in excellent vintage condition with no damages of any kind. I have taken lots of images for your inspection. Any bright white lines on my photographs are not on the glass - but has just bright reflections on the glass surface.
These Isle of Wight bud vases are keenly sought after - and my one is listed at a fair price for this fine piece of British Art Glass. A nice addition to your British studio glass collection.
It will be sent to you with Royal Mail Tracked post - this will be applied to your order at the checkout.
