This is a highly decorative and collectable vintage lithographic print.
It was published by the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam in 1955.
The publication details are printed on the lower left-hand corner, as photographed.
It is certainly a stunning image of one of Jean Lurcat's most famous works - a large and rather fantastic rooster standing proud against an acid-yellow background.
The print is of a large size and it has been laid down onto a rigid backing board. Image: 57cm x 40 cm.
The print has a blue mount which complements the colours of the print - and it would be simple to just pop as is into a framer and have a new frame made.
These vintage mid-century prints are now hard to find - and it is certainly a good quality one published by a prestigious museum. The image takes pains to reproduce Lurcat's textures of his textile - and you certainly have to do a double-take to realize that it is not an original tapestry but rather a fine art print of one.
Given it is now over 60 years old - it is in remarkable condition. This is reflected in my asking price. It is nice and clean with no condition problems and ready for you to just frame and display. It is also a nice large size and will look fantastic in a mid-century interior.
