This is a quirky little set of salt and pepper pots.
They are made of ceramic and date to the late 1940s or early 1950s.
They are unmarked with any maker's marks but I know that these are "foreign" in origin - and probably originate in Japan.
The cruets given their age are in lovely condition with no chips, cracks or damages (oops - the little mark on the boy's face was a dirty mark... and it cleaned off with a little wipe after I listed! )
They form an attractive pair - we have a little Chinese man sitting cross legged. He has a little mandarin cap and plays an Oriental stringed instrument. The little girl wears a straw hat - and she is also sitting cross legged - reading a book as she listens to the music.
The cruets are about 3 inches in height.
Very sweet - and great additions to your collection of novelty shakers.
