This is a very pretty minaudierie bag or purse. It is a stunning and perfect miniature bag for a wedding, Ladies' Day at the races, or another special celebration. It also just looks fabulous on display as a decorative item and could be used to hold some of your jewellery inside.
It is a more contemporary bag or miniature case - and probably dates to around the 1980s or 1990s - when these types of bejewelled hard case bags were all the range. A minaudiere bag is considered more of a jewellery piece which on occasion can be used to substitute an evening bag.
This one is just quite amazing and I can't find another one quite like it. It has no maker's name impressed on the bag - and no labels inside. This is surprising as it is such a good quality item.
The outer case of the bag is made of a gold-coloured metal - it is not solid in structure - but is formed from an encasement of conjoined leaves all over. Inside the intersection of many of the leaves are little diamante or Swarovski crystals. The bag is hinged and opens at the top. The "mock" catch is formed of two trumpet-shaped flower heads with two little crystals in the center. The bag is lined with a black flock velveteen material. There are four little magnets on the top internal corners of the bag - to keep it firmly shut. The minaudiere purse has a little gold metal handle, as photographed. Inside, it has a long gold coloured chain that you would attach to the bag if you preferred it over your shoulder.

Dimensions: the width of the main body section at the widest point is 5 1/2 inches. The height of the main body section is 3 1/2 inches. The height including the handle is 5 3/4 inches. The depth is 2 3/4 inches.
Condition: it is in perfect condition with no damage of any kind. It has never been used and has been packed away for many years. It was difficult to photograph with all the busy gleaming gold details - it certainly looks better in "real life" than in my photographs.
