This is a nice little gift item.
It is certainly a strange design - made up of two semi-circular Celtic-inspired shapes - which when joined together form an abstract butterfly.
It is quite a small piece - so might be suitable to pop on a little winter cap or beret - or perhaps on a lapel or a jacket. It is finely made despite its diminutive size - with the design raised off the background area of the design. The background is textured and the raised part of the design is smooth and shiny. There is a good bit of weight to it, I think due to it being cast in a mould. I have never seen another design quite like it.
It measures only 3 cm in length and has a height of 3 cm.
It comes in a little purple gift box - as photographed.
The brooch is in good clean condition - and ready to wear. It has a nice shine to the silver (it is marked on the reverse 925 and has a little flowerhead for the maker - but I have been unable to identify the creator).
