This is a pretty little vintage purse or bag for a more formal event. It dates to the 1950s.
It is now unique and I don't think that you will find another like it. It does not have a maker's name or label.
The bag has firm sides which are covered in a fine cloth material - this is a powder blue-grey shade and it is embellished with gold threads forming an almost atomic pattern of exploding stars or gold fireworks.
The clasp of the bag is made of gold metal - as photographed. It has a little gold chain to carry the bag. It would look great as a bag for a wedding or Ascot outfit if you have a blue-grey outfit for the occasion.
The bag is in excellent vintage condition - it is lovely and clean and never been used. There is one little scuff mark to the inside of the bag on the cream coloured lining - I have photographed this for your inspection. There are two little side pockets inside - the bag would carry a large mobile phone, some powder, lipstick and your keys.
To close the bag you press it shut - and to open you lift the little hanging gold metal lozenge up.
The bag is very fine in the making - and all the embroidery and glass beads are applied to quite a fine material. There are lots of glass beads of different shapes and colours and all the flowers have been embroidered with delicate stitches. The colours remain nice and bright with little fading.
The main body of the bag measures: 5 1/2 inches in height and with a width at the bottom of just over 8 1/4 inches. The width at the top 7 inches. The depth at the widest is 1 3/4 inches.
