This is a beautiful Scottish Victorian brooch dating to around the 1880s / 1890s.
The brooch is a round shape with an undulating edge and has inset crescent-shaped agates. In the center is a raised amber-faceted Cairngorm held aloft from the main body sections by eight decorative claws. These are all shiny, polished, and in good condition, fully intact, and with no damages.
The silver on the front is decorated with an engraved pattern.
The whole of the back is covered in a layer of this sterling silver - as you find on antique Scottish pieces. There is a maker's mark on the back WJ & S - for William Johnson and Sons. It is also marked Sterling Silver. This is a nicer and better made example of this type of brooch - and I have listed it at a very fair price.
The pin is as you would find on antique Scottish jewellery - with a simple c-curl clasp.
This is a pretty Victorian Scottish brooch: it has a diameter of 4 cm. It weighs just over 15 grams in weight. I have taken close-up photographs - so please examine these closely to check the condition.
