This is a rarer to find hallmarked Sterling silver pendant made by the Scottish silversmith, Ola Gorie of Orkney.
Her design features a Burrian Cross with decorative twisting patterns shown in silver and set against a dark acid effect background.
This Ola Gorie Silver pendant measures 4 cm square, not including the bale or hanging hoop. It is beautifully made with black enamel work and raised silver decoration to the front and a plain polished reverse.
The reverse has the maker’s initials at the back OMG. I can't quite make out the date letter on the hallmark – but it is one that might have been applied in the late 1970s. It has been assayed in Edinburgh.
The chain is a nice thick one and measures a total of 21 inches. The pendant also comes with a nice plain black presentation box with a hinged lid.
Again, this a lovely quality piece of Scottish jewellery and listed at a fair piece for an early piece by Ola Gorie.
As a vintage piece, rest assured that it is nice and clean, and ready to wear.
